Non-Muslims appointed to a religious Muslim school23 February 2021Greece knows no boundaries in its dictatorial practices towards the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority. The government is thoroughly derailed.
The Greek junta-like regime appointed the “regent muftis” of Gümülcine and İskeçe, which violated the will and beliefs of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority under International Law, and now as the head of the council of madrasas. Not satisfied with this, the dictatorship appointed non-Muslims to the general secretarial of the council committee in order to hurt Muslims even more.
According to the decision, Cihat Halil, the regent mufti appointed in Gümülcine, was appointed as the head of the Council Committee of Medrese-i Hayriye (Religious High School) of Gümülcine, and Bilal Kara Halil, the regent mufti of İskeçe, was appointed to the Medrese of İskeçe. Christian citizens were also appointed to the positions of general secretaries in the councils, which normally should be members of the minority.
