The scandal that took place near Thessaloniki showed that the official authorities in the country tolerate neither the living nor the dead Turks. 

In Gargara village of Chalkidiki, close to Thessaloniki, the area of 201 Ottoman graves were plundered with heavy equipment. It was stated that the graves disappeared after the excavation works for the gymnasium.

According to the news of the Greek media, the workers who saw the graves unearthed during the excavation stopped the work.
