Uruguayan football star Luis Suarez on Thursday bid farewell to Barcelona.
"You have to appreciate that I am proud of these six years that I have been at the club. I will always be grateful to Barca for allowing me to experience wonderful and unforgettable moments," 33-year-old forward said on Barcelona website.
Suarez thanked Barcelona fans for their love and supports.
He said that he spent "wonderful years with great teammates" that he will remember.
"I have experienced many moments that will remain in my memory. The first league title, the Champions League, to play with wonderful players. It has been incredible."
Suarez was Barcelona forward in 2014-2020.
On Wednesday, Atletico Madrid said in a statement that the club agreed with Barcelona for the transfer of Suarez.
The player will seal contract with Atletico Madrid once he passes medical tests.
The Uruguayan international went down Barcelona history as he is the third top scorer for the club, netting 198 goals.
Before Barcelona, Suarez had played for Ajax Amsterdam and Liverpool.
He helped Barcelona win the 2015 UEFA Champions League title.
Suarez was a four-time Spanish champion with Barca (2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019).
In addition he won the 2011 Copa America with his nation.
